1) Keep your smartphone and apps up to date
Software updates protect you from vulnerabilities or loopholes that can be exploited. Install them as soon as they come up.
2) Delete unused apps from your device
If you don’t need/ use it, delete it. Old apps may have severe security flaws that can compromise your device.
3) Back up data
This action is essential in case of theft or malicious compromise such as a ransomware attack.
4) Stay away from SMS scams
Delete any unexpected SMS or email containing links to download something or ask you for personal or financial information, even if they seem to come from legit sources (your bank, delivery companies).
5) Hang up or don’t respond to suspicious phone calls
Scammers may also call you on the phone to convince you to reveal personally identifiable information, bank account numbers, PINs, credit card numbers.
6) Think twice before connecting to public WiFi networks
Public WiFi can face many threats, including theft of personal information such as login and financial data, especially if you don’t use a VPN to encrypt your data.

Bitdefender Endpoint Security for Mac: End of Support for OS X El Capitan (10.11)

Bitdefender Endpoint Security for Mac support for MacOS El Capitan (10.11) will end as of September 1st, 2021.

Starting with the March 2021 release, the Bitdefender Endpoint Security for Mac kit will no longer install on OS X El Capitan. Customers looking to perform new installations on this legacy macOS version can either save an older version of the Bitdefender Endpoint Security for Mac kit or contact Bitdefender Enterprise Support to receive a compatible version and installation procedure. A KB article will be available here detailing necessary steps.
Existing Bitdefender Endpoint Security for Mac installations on OS X El Capitan will continue to function properly and receive signature and critical product updates until September 1st, 2021.

Note:
OS X El Capitan (10.11) is no longer supported by Apple and has not received security updates since August 2018.

Most firms bought in to the idea of purchasing Microsoft Office 365 for financial reasons and convenience. Microsoft promised easy access to Word, Excel and Outlook know matter where you are. An audit of our suppliers, partners, contractors and outsources concluded SolarWinds solutions are not incorporated into any products or services we procure.

Although Bitdefender does not use any SolarWinds solutions in its operations, a thorough systems check concluded no indication of compromise from the attack.

We have hardened our environment against specific techniques used in this attack and will continue to fortify through evaluations and tabletop exercises as new information becomes available.
